The Penguins bring a four-game winning streak into a road matchup tonight when they take on the New York Rangers in a Metro Division showdown. The Rangers sit fourth in the division at 13-10-1 but are just one point ahead of the Penguins, who are 11-12-4 and are coming off wins over Florida, Calgary, Boston, and Vancouver.
Coach Mike Sullivan kept lines and power-play groups the same during yesterday’s practice. This year’s first-round pick Harrison Brunicke was in Cranberry practicing on his own as he rehabs a broken wrist. He wore a brace on it throughout the day and he hopes to play for Canada’s World Junior team in January.
Sidney Crosby met with reporters after practice, and he said the winning streak has given the Penguins a much-needed confidence boost.
Erik Karlsson has been sluggish throughout the year, bringing a -11 into tonight’s game, but he says the winning streak has helped him regain his rhythm.
