Hope Mission will open its doors for the first of its annual Christmas banquets for Edmonton’s most vulnerable neighbors. More than 600 hungry and hurting guests are expected to attend at the downtown location on 106 Avenue.
Kevin Wiebe, Donor Relations Manager with Hope Mission spoke with 89.3 The Raven, saying that the banquet will serve attendees a hot meal, along with seeing holiday décor and music that will give them a sense of home for the holiday season.
Wiebe adds that the motto at Hope Mission is that Hope begins with a meal, as the Christmas Banquets help bring joy to the many in need.
Wiebe speaks on the numbers from last year’s attendance for the Christmas Banquet, serving 800 hot meals per day, with the number jumping to 2,100 meals served per day as the numbers continue to grow.
