The rumor has been proven true by one of the members.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, BamBam confirmed the months-long speculation about the forthcoming return of his band, GOT7, early next year.
He wrote, “oh god finally i can say this out loud. is been a month!! you know how hard to hold this..?”
Below that, he attached a meme that read: “GOT7 is coming back on January 20th and everyone needs to know, so I bought this billboard.”
BamBam’s social media post comes after various forums and publications initially reported the group’s return after almost three years.
GOT7’s last comeback as a complete team was back in May 2022, when they released their self-titled extended play that carried the single ‘Nanana.’
Recently, in November, member Jinyoung was officially discharged after finishing his mandatory military service.
GOT7 made their debut back in 2014 and is known for their songs like ‘If You Do,’ ‘Just Right,’ ‘Hard Carry,’ ‘Never Ever,’ ‘You Are,’ ‘Lullaby,’ and ‘You Calling My Name,’ among many others.
In 2021, they departed their original home label JYP Entertainment upon the expiry of their contracts, eventually releasing the track titled ‘Encore’ under Warner Music Korea.
