Broadway Plan Zoom event!
Sunday, December 8, 2024 (5 – 6 pm)
Information and registration (Required): https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_e9Ep5RKtSPSgEpSG88-CNw
(Updated: Above is the Zoom link for registration.)
Join the Broadway Plan Action Group for a follow up to the “Pause the Plan” rally held on November 23 at Vancouver City Hall. At this Zoom webinar event on December 8, you will hear about
(1) the Broadway Plan (500 city blocks from 1st to 16th Avenue and Vine to Clark),
(2) its many impacts and implications,
(3) the huge significance of proposed amendments in a just-released 353-page report City Council is expected to consider and approve at a committee meeting on Tuesday, December 11 to “turbocharge” demolition and tower construction in the Broadway Plan area, and
(4) how concerned citizens can have an impact by signing up to speak (or by writing) to Vancouver City Council on December 11.
It all has massive implications and this coming week could be the last chance for real public input.
The event will be webinar format, with presenters on the screen (more details to be updated here). We will try to have about half the time for Q&A via Zoom. Uou are also welcome to e-mail questions to CityHallWatch in advance at citizenYVR@gmail.com.
Even if you cannot join the event, we strongly urge you to write or sign up to speak to Council on Dec 11. The deadline to sign up to speak is 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening (Dec 10).
