How visual communication principles enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of product design
More than 6 years ago I wrote an article, called What is Visual Communication Design? With more industry experience, my perspective has shifted, and I realized there is more to the story.
A little voice inside me used to whisper “You’re just drawing pictures — and that’s why you’re not good enough”. I now know that is exactly why I am good enough.
As aptly said by Canva blog article, visual communication is “using visual elements to convey ideas, information, and data.” It is simply the act of communicating with visuals as a language. To communicate effectively in a visual language, you need to understand the art of seeing, the rules visuals play by and then learn how to break them.
