The Steelers are 9-and-a-half point underdogs headed into tomorrow’s AFC Wild Card playoff game at Baltimore, but they say they are ready to go.
The injury report looks good for Donte Jackson, who has been cleared to play by team doctors who checked out his creaky back. Guard Mason McCormick is questionable with his broken hand and the Steelers yesterday made a move to better their depth if he can’t play. Veteran guard Calvin Anderson has practiced all week but was added to the injury list with a groin concern yesterday. If he’s well enough, he could be added to the active roster. Wide receiver Scotty Miller was released to open up a roster spot.
Tight end MyCole Pruitt was back at practice yesterday after sitting out Wednesday with a knee injury and Cam Heyward worked out for the first time. He’s been battling the flu. Kicker Chris Boswell was out again due to illness.
Baltimore ruled out top receiver Zay Flowers, who has a knee injury. Backup running back Justice Hill was cleared to play after his return from a concussion.
Linebacker TJ Watt has never won a playoff game in his NFL career. He is eager to turn that around against the Ravens.
Watt says the Ravens have a lot of options to move the ball, on the ground and through the air.
Strong safety DeShon Elliott has been in four postseason games in his career and has never won one either. He’s excited to try to beat the Ravens.
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. says there are no secrets between the Ravens and Steelers.
Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 8 o’clock. Airtime on WDAD is at 6.
The other Wild Card game tomorrow is an AFC matchup featuring the LA Chargers at Houston. There are three games Sunday: The Broncos at the Bills in the AFC, and NFC games between the Packers and Eagles in Philly and the Commanders and Bucs in Tampa Bay. Wild Card Weekend wraps up Monday night with the Rams hosting the Vikings in a game that has been moved to Glendale, Arizona because of the Los Angeles fires.
