Nearly 50 websites with WordPress are infected with a cryptographic virus

The epidemic of cryptographic viruses can get out of control at any moment.

According to researcher Troy Murch, writes The Next Web, nearly 50 WordPress websites have been infected with a cryptographic virus.

Based on a source code of the PublicWWW engine to scan pages with cryptographic malware, Mursch found 48,953 affected websites.

The researcher said that Coinhive continues to be the most widespread cryptographic script and has completely conquered 40 thousand websites, or 81 percent of all recorded cases, Telegraph reports.

It had managed to detect at least 30 websites infected with Coinhive in November of last year and the rest or 19 percent, is occupied by Crypto-Loot, CoinImp, Minr and deepMiner malware.

Mursch says 2,057 websites were infected by Crypto-Loot, 4,119 by CoinImp, 692 by Minr and 2,160 by deepMiner.

In February, it was discovered that a number of legitimate websites had been hijacked by cryptographic scripts. /Telegraph/
