Alfa Romeo is putting the 33 Stradale through its paces at one of the fastest places on earth. The ultra-limited Italian supercar is being tested on the Nardò Ring, with dynamic testing including checking its handling and reliability. Oh, and that 207-mph top speed will be verified too. The automaker says that testing for the 33 Stradale started at its Balocco Proving Ground in Italy’s Vercelli province. The track has been home to Alfa development since 1962, with its racing and road cars proving their mettle at the circuit. You can watch that at the bottom of this article.

Alfa Making Sure Everything Is Ready For First Deliveries
Starting at what the company modestly calls “moderate speed,” Alfa engineers tested and tweaked the steering, brakes, and suspension. They also tested the two drive modes, making sure that the Track mode was aggressive enough to suit the car’s performance.
After those tests, it was time to go all-out at the Nardò Ring. The track has a 7.8-mile ring and is the largest and fastest circular test track in the world. Its multiple levels of banking allow for different speeds without the need for steering, and it is one of the best places around to take a car through 200 mph.

On the Nardò Ring, Alfa ran the 620 horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 flat out for lap after lap. The company verified the car’s sub-three-second 0-60 run and top speed. The carbon-ceramic brakes with brake-by-wire system were also tested to their max using the track’s high-speed capability.
In keeping with its name, Alfa Romeo is only building 33 copies of the 33 Stradale. The automaker confirmed this week that the first one will be delivered in December.
Stradale Gets New Chromium-Free Leather Interior
A new video shows some of the 33’s first on-track laps. With all of the scurrying and random tool use you expect from a video of a fast car shot in a garage with a crew nearby. The video has no narration; instead, Alfa lets you hear the V6. It’s no naturally aspirated V8, but it does sound pretty good.
If you’re one of the 33 buyers who get to sit in a 33 Stradale, you can rest soundly knowing that the cowhide inside is slightly more sustainable than typical leathers. High-end furniture maker and leather goods company Poltrona Frau, which makes the 33 Stradale’s cabin, announced it would be using its Impact Less leather for the car.
